How it works

1. Activate Argothian Elder by tapping it, untapping Griffin Canyon and another land.
2. Activate Griffin Canyon's second ability by tapping it, untapping Argothian Elder and giving it +1/+1 until end of turn.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms a humble bird into a powerhouse by leaning heavily on Arcane Adaptation to rewrite the rules of creature types, declaring "Griffin" so that Argothian Elder counts as one. Once the type is matched, Griffin Canyon can use its second ability to untap the Elder, while the Elder repays the favor by tapping to untap Griffin Canyon alongside any other land. Because the Elder untaps two lands for every one it taps, this dance of foliage and feathers generates infinite mana from your lands while leaving your infinitely large Argothian Elder massive and ready to strike.
