How it works

1. Activate Fain's first ability by tapping it and sacrificing a creature.
2. When the creature dies, Xathrid Necromancer and Fain trigger.
3. Resolve the Xathrid Necromancer trigger, creating a 2/2 Zombie creature token.
4. Resolve the Fain trigger, untapping it.
5. Resolve the Fain ability from step 1, putting two +1/+1 counters on a creature you control.
6. Repeat.

This clever engine transforms Fain, the Broker into a self-sustaining sacrifice loop by rewriting creature types with Arcane Adaptation so that Fain is treated as a Human. When you sacrifice a creature to Fain, Xathrid Necromancer triggers to replace it with a fresh Zombie token while Thornbite Staff uses the death event to automatically untap Fain. This lets you endlessly repeat the process, fueling infinite sacrifice triggers, creature tokens, and +1/+1 counters on your board.
