How it works

1. Activate Fain's first ability by tapping it and sacrificing a creature.
2. When the creature dies, Bishop of Wings' second ability and Fain trigger.
3. Resolve the Bishop of Wings trigger, creating a 1/1 Spirit creature token.
4. When the Spirit enters the battlefield, Bishop of Wings' first ability triggers, causing you to gain 4 life.
5. Resolve the Fain trigger, untapping it.
6. Resolve the Fain ability from step 1, putting two +1/+1 counters on a creature you control.
7. Repeat.

This clever engine transforms Fain, the Broker into a relentless recycling machine by using Arcane Adaptation to turn every creature you control into an Angel. Because of this type-shifting enchantment, every time Fain sacrifices a creature to fuel its own growth, Bishop of Wings steps in to spawn a 1/1 Spirit token upon that creature's death, which in turn triggers the Bishop's life-gaining ability as the new Angel enters. Meanwhile, Thornbite Staff can also join the fray—or serve as an alternative conduit for this synergy—by automatically untapping Fain whenever any creature dies, ensuring you have the requisite untaps to keep sacrificing and rebuilding your board. The result is an unstoppable loop that endlessly pumps your team with +1/+1 counters while generating infinite life, deaths, and enters-the-battlefield triggers.
