How it works

1. Activate Loyal Retainers by sacrificing it, returning Sakashima the Impostor from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Karmic Guide.
2. When Sakashima the Impostor enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Loyal Retainers from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Sakashima the Impostor.
4. Repeat.

This intricate resurrection loop kicks into gear when you use Loyal Retainers to pull Sakashima the Impostor from your graveyard straight onto the battlefield, having it enter as a copy of Karmic Guide. Because this copy enters the battlefield, its triggered ability lets you fish Loyal Retainers right back out of your graveyard to the battlefield, setting up an endless cycle. To reset the loop, you activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Sakashima the Impostor, allowing you to repeat the entire process indefinitely. This continuous exchange generates infinite creature enters-the-battlefield, leaves-the-battlefield, sacrifice, and death triggers, while stacking an infinite number of +1/+1 counters onto Phantom Train in the process.
