Once Kami is an artifact, Voltaic Construct can target it directly, resetting its tap ability for the cost of two mana. Because Kami of Whispered Hopes scales its own power and mana production upward with every counter placed—boosted by its own replacement effect—tapping it generates more than enough mana to pay for Voltaic Construct's activation and still come out ahead, leaving you with infinite colored mana and an infinitely untapping artifact creature.
