How it works

1. Cast Strength of Will by paying 1, targeting Walking Ballista.
2. Activate Walking Ballista by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to it.
3. Walking Ballista triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on it due to Kami of Whispered Hopes.
4. Activate Walking Ballista by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to any target.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This brilliant loop centers on turning Walking Ballista into a self-sustaining engine of destruction by targeting it with Strength of Will to grant it indestructible and a damage-triggered growth ability. Once Kami of Whispered Hopes is on the battlefield, its replacement effect turns every instance of self-inflicted damage into a net gain of counters—producing two counters for every one you remove to ping the Ballista, while still allowing you to peel off extra counters to deal infinite damage to any target.
