How it works

1. Cast Sacrifice by paying and sacrificing Scholar of the Ages, adding seven .
2. Cast Victimize by paying 2, causing you to sacrifice a creature and return Scholar of the Ages and another creature from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. When Scholar of the Ages enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Sacrifice and Victimize to your hand from your graveyard.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop exploits the recursive recycling of spells by feeding a creature back into your own engine. By casting Sacrifice, you send Scholar of the Ages to the graveyard while netting a massive chunk of black mana. You then use that mana to cast Victimize, sacrificing another creature to bring back the Scholar alongside whatever fodder you just spent. Whenever Scholar of the Ages hits the battlefield, its enters-the-battlefield ability triggers to pull both Sacrifice and Victimize right back out of your graveyard and into your hand, setting the stage to do it all over again.
