How it works

  1. Cast Illusion of Choice by paying U mana, allowing you to decide how each player votes this turn and causing you to draw a a card.
  2. Cast Plea for Power by paying 3U mana, choosing all votes to be for time, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  3. At the beginning of your end step, Airbender Ascension triggers, blinking Scholar of the Ages.
  4. When Scholar of the Ages enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Illusion of Choice and Plea for Power from your graveyard to your hand.
  5. Repeat each turn.

By casting Illusion of Choice, you bypass the democracy of Plea for Power and guarantee that its will of the council vote always chooses time, securing you an extra turn every single cycle. Meanwhile, Airbender Ascension accumulates quest counters whenever your creatures enter the battlefield until its end-step trigger can reliably blink Scholar of the Ages. When Scholar of the Ages hits the battlefield, its enter-the-battlefield ability plucks both Illusion of Choice and Plea for Power right back out of your graveyard to hand, setting up the exact same loop on your next extra turn.
