How it works

1. When damage would be dealt to you, that damage is redirected to the creature that has With Great Power... attached instead.
2. Because Rune-Tail's Essence prevents damage being dealt to creatures you control, the creature with With Great Power... attached takes no damage.

This clever lock rests on a brilliant redirection loop: once you meet the life threshold to flip Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant into its Rune-Tail's Essence side, you gain blanket protection that prevents all damage dealt to creatures you control. By enchanting that creature with With Great Power . . ., any damage that would normally be dealt to you is redirected straight to the creature instead. Because the Essence's passive replacement effect steps in to completely prevent damage dealt to your creatures, the redirected blow is entirely negated, leaving you and your board completely impervious to damage.
