How it works

1. Activate Mogg Fanatic by sacrificing it.
2. When Mogg Fanatic dies, Mortuary and Blood Artist trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Mogg Fanatic from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Blood Artist trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and target opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Resolve the Mogg Fanatic ability.
6. Cast Mogg Fanatic from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This clever little engine turns Mogg Fanatic into an endlessly reusable projectile by letting Mortuary catch the goblin from the graveyard and slide it straight back onto your library. Bolas's Citadel makes the actual casting effortless, allowing you to bypass mana costs entirely and recast the fanatic over and over by simply paying its meager 1 mana value as life. Meanwhile, Blood Artist watches this relentless loop of sacrifice and rebirth to steadily drain your opponents dry while padding your life total enough to keep the Citadel's payment engine running.
