How it works

1. Activate Mogg Fanatic by sacrificing it.
2. When Mogg Fanatic dies, Mortuary and Overgrowth Elemental trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Mogg Fanatic from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Overgrowth Elemental trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Resolve the Mogg Fanatic ability.
6. Cast Mogg Fanatic from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a humble goblin into an endless artillery strike by neatly bypassing traditional mana costs. With Bolas's Citadel providing the ability to cast spells directly from the top of your library for life instead of mana, you can repeatedly deploy Mogg Fanatic right back where it started. Every time Mogg Fanatic sacrifices itself to deal a point of damage, Mortuary intercepts it on the way to the graveyard to place it precisely back onto your library. Meanwhile, Overgrowth Elemental capitalizes on the constant cycle by granting you a steady stream of life with each death trigger, entirely offsetting the life payment required by Bolas's Citadel to keep the engine running indefinitely.
