How it works

1. Activate a basic Island by tapping it, adding .
2. Activate Earthcraft by tapping Leech Bonder.
3. Deeprot Pilgrimage triggers, creating a 1/1 Merfolk creature token.
4. Resolve the Earthcraft ability, untapping the Island.
5. Activate Leech Bonder by paying and untapping it, moving a counter from one creature to another creature.
6. Repeat.

This crafty loop turns Leech Bonder into an unlikely engine by using Earthcraft to tap it as a cost, which simultaneously feeds your mana supply and satisfies Deeproot Pilgrimage to flood the board with hexproof Merfolk tokens. Every time you tap the Bonder, you trigger the Pilgrimage to spawn fodder while untapping an Island to pay for Leech Bonder's own untap-and-counter-moving ability. Because the Bonder can bounce its own -1/-1 counters back and forth or shift them away, it easily untaps itself to keep the chain rolling indefinitely.
