How it works

1. Activate Leech Bonder by tapping it, adding .
2. Deeprot Pilgrimage triggers, creating a 1/1 Merfolk creature token.
3. Activate Leech Bonder by paying and untapping it, moving a counter from one creature to another creature.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Leech Bonder into an untap engine by leveraging Cryptolith Rite, which grants every creature the ability to tap for mana. As Leech Bonder taps to activate its own ability—using its untap cost to move a counter—it simultaneously triggers Deeproot Pilgrimage to churn out a steady stream of hexproof Merfolk tokens. Those newly created tokens immediately benefit from Cryptolith Rite as well, weaving together a self-sustaining web of mana production, counter manipulation, and token generation.
