How it works

1. Activate Amoeboid Changeling's second ability by tapping it, causing Otherworldly Escort to lose all creature types until end of turn.
2. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Otherworldly Escort.
3. When Otherworldly Escort dies, it and Amoeboid Changeling trigger.
4. Resolve the Amoeboid Changeling trigger, untapping it.
5. Resolve the Otherworldly Escort trigger, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield as a Spirit Detective.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Otherworldly Escort into an immortal sacrifice engine by stripping away its native creature types with Amoeboid Changeling. Because the Escort temporarily loses all creature types when it dies, its persistent resurrection clause always sees a non-Spirit hitting the graveyard, bringing it right back with a fresh batch of charge counters. Thermopod is waiting in the wings to turn each of these cycles into a steady stream of red mana, while Thornbite Staff can easily hitch a ride and untap along the way thanks to all the creatures meeting their end.
