How it works

1. Play a land card.
2. Dúnedain Rangers and the permanent with a Landfall ability trigger.
3. Resolve the permanent with a Landfall ability trigger, creating a creature token.
4. Resolve the Dúnedain Rangers trigger, causing the Ring to tempt you, and causing the creature token to become your Ring-bearer.
5. Sméagol triggers.
6. Holding priority, activate Phantom Train by sacrificing the creature token.
7. Resolve the Sméagol trigger, causing an opponent to reveal cards from the top of their library until they reveal a land card, then causing you to put the land onto the battlefield tapped under your control, and your opponent to put all other revealed cards into their graveyard.
8. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns the Ring's constant temptation into an engine of absolute theft and growth, starting whenever you drop a land to trigger Dúnedain Rangers. As that landfall ability prompts the Ring to tempt you, you can designate a creature token as your Ring-bearer to satisfy Sméagol, Helpful Guide, whose own end-step trigger isn't actually needed once you're looping the temptation itself. By feeding that token to Phantom Train as a sacrifice before the temptation resolves, you trigger Sméagol's mill-and-land-stealing ability while pumping the Phantom Train with a +1/+1 counter. Best of all, that newly stolen land enters the battlefield under your control to immediately restart the Dúnedain Rangers landfall chain, stripping your opponents of their entire library's worth of lands while growing an unstoppable vehicle.
