How it works

1. Activate the creature by tapping it, dealing damage to an opponent's creature.
2. The opponent's creature dies due to deathtouch, triggering the second ability granted by Thornbite Staff, untapping your creature.
3. Repeat until all opponents' creatures die.
4. Repeat each time a creature enters the battlefield under an opponent's control.

This ingenious setup turns any creature into a one-man board wipe by layering together static buffs and activated abilities. Equipping Vorpal Sword grants your creature the vital deathtouch needed to turn any scrap of damage into a lethal blow. Meanwhile, sliding Hermetic Study onto the creature—or outfitting it with Thornbite Staff—grants the ranged pinging ability needed to reliably pick off enemy targets. Every time a creature succumbs to that deathtouch ping, Thornbite Staff’s triggered ability immediately untaps your creature, letting you repeat the execution until the opposing board is entirely clean.
