How it works

1. Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
2. When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Teval triggers, creating two creature tokens.
4. Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
6. Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
7. Repeat.

This intricate loop turns Survey Mechan into a self-sustaining engine by abusing its unique cost-reduction ability alongside Mortuary, which instantly recycles the Mechan back to the top of your library upon its demise. Ashnod's Altar provides the colorless mana needed to recast the Mechan while simultaneously feeding the loop with the creature tokens generated by Teval, the Balanced Scale. Whenever cards leave your graveyard—such as when Mortuary puts the Mechan back onto your library—Teval triggers to create a 2/2 black Zombie Druid, and Adrix and Nev, Twincasters doubles those token-creation events so you always have enough sacrifices ready for the Altar.
