How it works

1. Activate Witch's Oven by tapping it and sacrificing Cauldron Familiar.
2. When Cauldron Familiar dies, Dross Scorpion triggers, untapping Witch's Oven.
3. Resolve the Witch's Oven ability, creating a Food artifact token.
4. Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing a Food token, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. When Cauldron Familiar enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This looping engine relies on a clever transformation of the battlefield courtesy of Encroaching Mycosynth, which turns all your nonland permanents—including creatures like Cauldron Familiar—into artifacts alongside their other types. Because of this, when you sacrifice the Familiar to Witch's Oven, its death immediately triggers Dross Scorpion to untap the Oven for repeat use. The created Food token then fuels Cauldron Familiar's own recursive ability to leap straight back from the graveyard to the battlefield, draining opponents and gaining you life with every single cycle.
