How it works

1. Cast Cauldron Familiar by paying .
2. When Cauldron Familiar enters, it and Weapons Manufacturing trigger.
3. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
4. Resolve the Weapons Manufacturing trigger, creating a Munitions artifact token.
5. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar.
6. Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing the Munitions, as it is a Food due to Ragost.
7. The Munitions triggers, dealing 2 damage to any target.
8. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
9. Repeat from step 2.

This crafty engine turns your entire board into a relentless loop of life drain and explosive ordnance. Encroaching Mycosynth sets the stage by turning all your nonland permanents into artifacts, which allows Ragost, Deft Gastronaut to gracefully bless every single one of them with the Food type. When you cast Cauldron Familiar, Weapons Manufacturing steps in to spin off a Munitions token upon entry, while the cat itself drains life and conveniently sets off Ragost's lifegain trigger to keep the gastronaut untapped. You then feed Cauldron Familiar to Phyrexian Altar for mana, and use that very same cat's ability to sacrifice the Munitions-turned-Food—triggering the Munitions token's explosive 2-damage farewell and letting the cat leap right back onto the battlefield to do it all over again.
