How it works

1. Cast Cauldron Familiar either from your hand or from the top of your library by paying or 1 life respectively.
2. When Cauldron Familiar enters, it triggers, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
3. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar.
4. When Cauldron Familiar dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Cauldron Familiar from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
5. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
6. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns your library into a self-sustaining engine by uniting life manipulation with precise graveyard placement. With Bolas's Citadel letting you play spells directly from the top of your library for a mere payment of life, you can continuously cast Cauldron Familiar, which triggers its own drain-and-gain effect upon entering the battlefield. Once it resolves, you sacrifice the cat to Bartolomé del Presidio to fuel its sacrifice outlet and trigger Mortuary, which instantly places Cauldron Familiar right back onto the top of your library. Because the Citadel lets you replay the cat from the very top of your library for just 1 life—which is immediately offset by the cat's own lifegain—you create a perpetual cycle of sacrifices and life exchanges that drains your opponents out of the game entirely.
