How it works

1. Activate Spawning Pit's first ability by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar.
2. Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing a Food, returning Cauldron Familiar to the battlefield from your graveyard.
3. Cauldron Familiar and Tormod trigger.
4. Resolve the Tormod trigger, creating a token and a Food token.
5. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
6. Repeat

This clever loop uses Spawning Pit as a reliable outlet to send Cauldron Familiar straight to the graveyard, setting the entire engine into motion. Each time Cauldron Familiar enters the battlefield, it drains your opponents while triggering Tormod, the Desecrator whenever a card leaves your graveyard. Thanks to Peregrin Took modifying token generation, every instance where cards leave your graveyard conveniently supplies you with an extra Food token to fuel your sacrifices and draw through your deck.
