How it works
Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar, causing you to scry 1.
Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing a Food, returning Cauldron Familiar to the battlefield from your graveyard.
Cauldron Familiar and Insidious Roots trigger.
Resolve the Insidious Roots trigger, creating a 0/1 green Plant creature token and a Food artifact token, and then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
Resolve the Cauldron Familiar trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
Repeat
This clever loop hinges on a recursive exchange of life and resources, starting when you sacrifice Cauldron Familiar to Viscera Seer to feed the graveyard and trigger a scry. Insidious Roots catches that departure from the graveyard to churn out a Plant creature token while quietly growing your board with +1/+1 counters, and Peregrin Took steps in right on cue to turn token creation into an absolute windfall by throwing an extra Food token into the mix. You can then use those generated Foods to bring Cauldron Familiar right back to life—or tap your mana-producing Plants enabled by Insidious Roots, or even cash in three Foods to draw cards—draining your opponents dry through endless entry and sacrifice triggers.
