How it works

  1. Activate Spawning Pit's first ability by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar.
  2. Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing a Food, returning Cauldron Familiar to the battlefield from your graveyard.
  3. Cauldron Familiar and Quintorius, History Chaser trigger.
  4. Resolve the Quintorius, History Chaser trigger, creating a token and a Food token.
  5. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
  6. Repeat

This delightfully macabre loop turns a humble cat into an engine of endless life-drain and resource generation by closing a tight cycle of recycling and sacrifice. You begin by feeding Cauldron Familiar to Spawning Pit, sending the cat to the graveyard where its ability can feast on a Food token to bring it right back to the battlefield. That zone change triggers Quintorius, History Chaser, whose affinity for cards leaving the graveyard immediately births a Spirit token. The real magic, however, comes from Peregrin Took: whenever that Spirit token is created, Peregrin's replacement effect injects an extra Food token directly into the mix, swelling your stockpiles and keeping your sacrificial pantry perpetually full.
