How it works

1. Activate Yahenni by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar.
2. Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing a Food, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. When Cauldron Familiar enters the battlefield, it and Samwise triggers.
4. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain one life.
5. Resolve the Samwise trigger, creating a Food token.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a humble cat-and-hobbit pairing into an endless drain on your opponents' life totals, legal in commander, legacy, modern, and vintage. By feeding Cauldron Familiar to Yahenni, Undying Partisan's sacrifice ability, you send the cat to the graveyard where it's immediately ready to hop back to the battlefield using the Food you have on hand. Every time Cauldron Familiar returns, Samwise Gamgee triggers to replace the spent Food with a fresh one, fueling the cycle indefinitely while draining life away.
