How it works
Activate Goblin Bombardment by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar, dealing 1 damage to any target.
Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing a Food, returning Cauldron Familiar to the battlefield from your graveyard.
Cauldron Familiar and Insidious Roots trigger.
Resolve the Insidious Roots trigger, creating a 0/1 green Plant creature token and a Food artifact token, and then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
Resolve the Cauldron Familiar trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
Repeat
This vicious loop turns a humble cat into an inescapable engine of doom by cycling it constantly between the battlefield and the graveyard. You kick things off by feeding Cauldron Familiar to Goblin Bombardment to deal damage, which sends the cat straight to the graveyard and leaves a creature card behind to feed Insidious Roots. When you sacrifice a Food to bring the Familiar back, Insidious Roots triggers on the creature leaving your graveyard to spawn a Plant token, which brilliantly pairs with Peregrin Took's replacement effect to instantly generate an extra Food token alongside it. With your new Food supply fueling the cat's resurrection and the Plant tokens providing mana or extra fodder, you can repeat this cycle infinitely to drain your opponents' life totals and amass an overwhelming army.
