How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar.
2. Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing a Food, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. When Cauldron Familiar enters the battlefield, it and Samwise triggers.
4. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain one life.
5. Resolve the Samwise trigger, creating a Food token.
6. Repeat.

This loop relies on an elegant cycle of recycling and nourishment to drain your opponents dry. When you sacrifice Cauldron Familiar to Thermopod, you generate the red mana needed to fund the cat's own recursion, which is paid for by sacrificing a Food. That very same entry triggers Samwise Gamgee, whose presence ensures that every single recursion replaces the spent Food with a brand-new one, keeping the engine fully fueled.
