How it works

1. Activate Cauldron Familiar by sacrificing a Food.
2. Ygra triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on it.
3. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
4. Cauldron Familiar and Chalk Outline trigger.
5. Resolve the Chalk Outline trigger, creating a creature token and a Clue token.
6. Resolve the Cauldron Familiar trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
7. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Cauldron Familiar.
8. When Cauldron Familiar dies, Ygra triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on it.
9. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability.
10. Repeat.

This clever loop turns your graveyard into an endless engine of life drain and token generation, anchored by Ygra, Eater of All turning every creature on the battlefield into a Food artifact. Because of Ygra's static ability, Cauldron Familiar counts as a Food when it is on the battlefield, allowing you to sacrifice it to itself to return it from the graveyard. When you do, Umbral Collar Zealot provides a convenient outlet to sacrifice the cat right back to the graveyard while fueling your card selection via surveil. Meanwhile, Chalk Outline capitalizes on the cat leaving your graveyard to continuously spawn Detective and Clue tokens, rapidly pumping Ygra with massive +1/+1 counters as every sacrificed piece hits the bin.
