How it works

1. Declare Mistblade Shinobi as an attacker.
2. When it isn't blocked, activate up to seven lands you control by tapping them, adding at least 2.
3. Activate Great Whale's ninjutsu ability by paying 2 and returning Mistblade Shinobi from the battlefield to your hand, putting Great Whale onto the battlefield from your hand tapped and attacking.
4. When Great Whale enters the battlefield, it triggers, untapping up to seven lands.
5. Activate Mistblade Shinobi's ninjutsu ability by paying and returning Great Whale from the battlefield to your hand, putting Mistblade Shinobi onto the battlefield from your hand tapped and attacking.
6. Repeat from step 2.
7. If you control up to seven lands that can tap to produce at least 3, this combo nets infinite mana.

This clever engine leverages Satoru Umezawa to grant every creature in your hand ninjutsu, turning your hand into a revolving door of recursive threats. By swapping Mistblade Shinobi and Great Whale back and forth through combat, Great Whale’s enters-the-battlefield trigger untaps your lands to more than pay for the next ninja swap. Satoru Umezawa even helps you dig for pieces along the way, turning an unblocked attacker into an endless cycle of mana and triggers.
