How it works

  1. Cast Rancor by paying G mana, attaching it to any other creature you control.
  2. When Rancor enters the battlefield, Calix's first ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth.
  3. Herd Baloth triggers, creating a 4/4 Beast creature token.
  4. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the creature with Rancor attached, adding G mana.
  5. Rancor triggers, returning it from your graveyard to your hand.
  6. Repeat.
