How it works

1. Cast Desperate Ritual by paying 1.
2. Holding priority, activate Rootha by paying 2 and returning it from the battlefield to your hand, copying Desperate Ritual.
3. Resolve the copy of Desperate Ritual, adding .
4. Activate Sneak Attack by paying , putting Rootha from your hand onto the battlefield.
5. Repeat from step 2.
6. If you have another Arcane card in hand, you may either cast that card and splice Desperate Ritual onto it, or splice it onto Desperate Ritual to get infinite copies of the effect(s).

This looping engine relies on repeatedly cycling Rootha, Mercurial Artist between the battlefield and your hand to endlessly duplicate Desperate Ritual. By leveraging Sneak Attack's cheap red mana investment, you can constantly cheat Rootha back into play from your hand while letting her own activated ability copy the ritual to continually refund and grow your available mana. The inclusion of Desperate Ritual's Splice onto Arcane mechanic even opens the door to chain other effects if you have matching cards in hand, turning a simple bounce loop into a flexible engine for endless magecraft triggers and creature entry and leaving the battlefield events.
