How it works

1. Cast Expedition Envoy by paying W/P.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. Whenever Expedition Envoy enters the battlefield, it and Ondu Cleric triggers, causing you to gain at least two life.
4. Activate Phyrexian Altar twice by sacrificing Expedition Envoy and the Soldier token, adding 1.
5. Whenever Expedition Envoy dies, Sigil of the New Dawn triggers, causing you to pay 1 to return Expedition Envoy from your graveyard to your hand.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop sets up an infinite engine using Expedition Envoy as the recurring sacrifice piece. Defiler of Faith is the true enabler of the loop, as its cost-reduction ability allows you to cast the Envoy for just 2 life instead of its normal mana cost while simultaneously generating a 1/1 Soldier token on cast to help fuel the altar. Phyrexian Altar acts as your mana and sacrifice outlet, converting the Envoy and the token into the exact {1}{W} needed to satisfy Sigil of the New Dawn, which returns the Envoy directly to your hand upon its death. Finally, Ondu Cleric capitalizes on the constant influx of Allies to gain you life with every single iteration, turning your mechanical loop into an unstoppable fountain of life and death.
