How it works

1. Cast Stoneforge Acolyte by paying W/P.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. Whenever Stoneforge Acolyte enters the battlefield, it and Ondu Cleric triggers, causing you to gain at least two life.
4. Activate Phyrexian Altar twice by sacrificing Stoneforge Acolyte and the Soldier token, adding 1.
5. Whenever Stoneforge Acolyte dies, Sigil of the New Dawn triggers, causing you to pay 1 to return Stoneforge Acolyte from your graveyard to your hand.
6. Repeat.

This intricate loop turns the recurring cycle of life and death into a well-oiled engine by leveraging cost reduction and mana sacrifice. By casting Stoneforge Acolyte for a mere 2 life with the help of Defiler of Faith, you immediately trigger Ondu Cleric to pad your life total while Defiler of Faith simultaneously rewards the cast by spawning a 1/1 Soldier token. You then sacrifice both the Acolyte and the token to Phyrexian Altar to generate the exact {1}{W} needed to fuel Sigil of the New Dawn, which effortlessly returns the Acolyte back to your hand as soon as it dies. Though Stoneforge Acolyte's own cohort ability isn't even part of the loop, every other piece locks together to generate infinite sacrifices, enters-the-battlefield effects, and lifegain.
