How it works

1. Activate Necrotic Ooze using Scaled Herbalist's ability by tapping it, putting a land from your hand onto the battlefield.
2. If the land is mana-producing and enters the battlefield untapped, you may activate it by tapping it, adding at least 1.
3. Activate Necrotic Ooze using Trench Behemoth's ability by returning the land from the battlefield to your hand, untapping Necrotic Ooze.
4. Repeat.

This brilliant loop centers on Necrotic Ooze, which acts as a chameleon in the graveyard by harvesting the activated abilities of other creatures. By absorbing Scaled Herbalist's tapping ability, the Ooze rapidly drops lands straight from your hand onto the battlefield to fuel your engine. It then switches gears to leverage Trench Behemoth's ability, bouncing those very same lands right back to your hand so it can continuously untap itself. As long as you have a land that enters the battlefield untapped and can produce mana to sustain the loop, this endless cycle generates infinite landfall triggers and boundless mana.
