How it works

1. Activate Perilous Forays by paying 1 and sacrificing a creature you control, searching your library for a land card with a basic land type and putting it on the battlefield untapped due to Horizon Explorer.
2. When the land enters the battlefield, Thranduil the Strategist triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate the land by tapping it, adding 1.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns land-tutoring into a self-sustaining engine by letting Thranduil the Strategist continuously replenish your sacrifice fodder whenever a land enters. As you feed creatures to Perilous Forays, Horizon Explorer ensures that each fetched land enters untapped so you can immediately tap it for mana to pay the Forays' activation cost. Thranduil rewards this constant stream of landfalls by churning out 1/1 green Elf tokens, which step right in to be sacrificed to the Forays and keep the chain going.
