How it works

1. Activate Bile Urchin by sacrificing it.
2. When Bile Urchin dies, Mortuary and Ashes of the Abhorrent trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Bile Urchin from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Ashes of the Abhorrent trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Resolve the Bile Urchin ability.
6. Cast Bile Urchin from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This crafty loop relies on Mortuary to intercept Bile Urchin the moment it hits the graveyard, neatly tucking it back onto the top of your library instead of letting it rest there. Gwenom, Remorseless then steps in to turn your library's peak into a makeshift hand, granting you permission to replay that very same Bile Urchin directly from the top; while casting it through Gwenom would normally drain your life total, Ashes of the Abhorrent gracefully cushions the blow by triggering off the creature's death to gain you back that life. It is a delightfully morbid cycle where the Urchin's endless sacrifice endlessly fuels itself.
