How it works

1. Activate Splintering Wind by paying , dealing 1 damage to target creature and creating a 1/1 Splinter creature token.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Splinter, adding .
3. When the Splinter dies, it and Ashes of the Abhorrent trigger.
4. Resolve the Ashes of the Abhorrent trigger, causing you to gain 1 life.
5. Resolve the Splinter trigger, dealing 1 damage to you, and putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control due to Vigor.
6. Repeat.

This loop uses Splintering Wind to continuously generate 1/1 green Splinter tokens, which are immediately fed into Phyrexian Altar to churn out green mana. Zirda, the Dawnwaker makes the enchantment's activation dirt cheap, ensuring you have the mana to keep firing off the ability. Meanwhile, Vigor turns the damage dealt to you when each token leaves the battlefield into a massive growth spurt, piling +1/+1 counters onto your creatures instead of hurting them. While all this token-sacrificing chaos unfolds, Ashes of the Abhorrent quietly pads your life total with every single creature death.
