How it works

1. Activate Ayara by tapping it and sacrificing another creature you control.
2. When the creature dies, Ayara triggers, untapping itself.
3. Resolve the Ayara ability from step 1, causing you to draw a card.
4. The Locust God triggers, creating a 1/1 Insect creature token with flying and haste.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Ayara, First of Locthwain into a self-sustaining engine by turning every card drawn into fuel for the sacrifice altar. Thanks to Painter's Servant naming black, every token created is recognized as a black creature, allowing Ayara's activated ability to keep the cycle fed. As you draw and sacrifice these tokens, The Locust God immediately replaces them in the air, while Thornbite Staff uses the constant stream of dying creatures to endlessly untap Ayara so you never run out of activations.
