How it works

1. Cast Kor Skyfisher by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Pearl Medallion.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Ayara triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Kor Skyfisher. When it enters, it and Ayara trigger.
5. Resolve the Kor Skyfisher trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Ayara trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This elegant loop transforms the humble Kor Skyfisher into a self-sustaining engine by completely eliminating its mana cost through the combined reductions of Pearl Medallion and Defiler of Faith. As you repeatedly cast the Skyfisher for free while paying life into the Defiler, the latter's triggered ability floods the board with 1/1 white Soldier creature tokens. Every time one of those tokens enters the battlefield, Ayara, First of Locthwain triggers to drain your opponents of life while padding your own total, easily offsetting the life invested in the Defiler of Faith. Meanwhile, the Kor Skyfisher's own entry trigger forces you to bounce it right back to your hand, resetting the loop for infinite life drain and an arbitrarily high storm count.
