How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Boonweaver Giant
2. When Boonweaver Giant dies, Gift of Immortality triggers, returning Boonweaver Giant from your graveyard to the battlefield
3. When Boonweaver Giant enters, it triggers, returning Gift of Immortality from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Boonweaver Giant.
4. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability from step 1.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop harnesses a clever recursive cycle between Boonweaver Giant and Gift of Immortality to endlessly grind through your deck. When you sacrifice the Giant to Altar of Dementia, Gift of Immortality triggers to immediately bring the Giant back to the battlefield rather than waiting for the end step, thanks to the way its return trigger interacts with simultaneous zone changes. As Boonweaver Giant re-enters, its own ability fetches Gift of Immortality right back from the graveyard and reattaches it, seamlessly resetting the entire engine. This lets Altar of Dementia mill your opponents out completely through an endless chain of sacrifices without ever running out of fuel.
