How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Selesnya Sanctuary.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Selesnya Sanctuary.
5. When Selesnya Sanctuary dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Selesnya Sanctuary from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Selesnya Sanctuary enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability
8. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a zero-mana artifact into an infinite recycling engine by leveraging Toph, the First Metalbender's static ability, which transforms your nontoken artifacts into lands. With that foundation set, you cast the artifact to trigger Toph, Hardheaded Teacher, which animates Selesnya Sanctuary into a creature via earthbending so you can readily sacrifice it to Carrion Feeder. When Selesnya Sanctuary dies, its built-in safety net returns it tapped, which immediately triggers its bounce ability to scoop up the original artifact—now disguised as a land—back to your hand to start the process all over again.
