How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Gravecrawler, adding CC.
2. Activate Signpost Scarecrow by paying 2, adding .
3. Cast Gravecrawler from your graveyard by paying .
4. Repeat.

This loop is a masterclass in recycling tiny horrors, utilizing Gravecrawler as both the sacrificial lamb and the persistent threat. Ashnod's Altar converts that little ghoul into a pair of colorless mana, which Signpost Scarecrow then filters into the precise black mana required to recast Gravecrawler right back from the graveyard. Because Gravecrawler's recursive condition is simply that you control *a* Zombie—and the card itself naturally holds the Zombie creature type—it smoothly sidesteps needing any other undead on the battlefield to restart the cycle.
