How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Twilight Shepherd, adding CC.
2. Twilight Shepherd dies, triggering its persist ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Twilight Shepherd enters the battlefield, triggering its ability.
4. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing Twilight Shepherd and Dockside Extortionist, adding CCCC.
5. Resolve the Twilight Shepherd trigger, returning to your hand all cards that were put into your graveyard this turn.
6. Cast Dockside Extortionist by paying 1.
7. Dockside Extortionist enters the battlefield, creating at least three Treasure tokens.
8. Activate the three Treasure tokens by tapping and sacrificing them, adding R/W.
9. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Dockside Extortionist, adding CC.
10. Cast Twilight Shepherd by paying 3.
11. Twilight Shepherd enters the battlefield, returning to your hand all cards that were put into your graveyard this turn.
12. Cast Dockside Extortionist by paying 1.
13. Dockside Extortionist enters the battlefield, creating at least three Treasure tokens.
14. Activate two Treasure tokens by tapping and sacrificing them, adding .
