How it works
- Activate Orthion's first ability by paying 1 and tapping it, creating a token copy of Dockside Extortionist with haste.
- When the token Dockside Extortionist enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating at least five Treasure artifact tokens.
- Activate five Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 4.
- Activate Orthion by paying 3 and untapping it, giving itself +2/+2 until end of turn.
- Repeat.
- If opponents control at least six artifacts and/or enchantments, this combo nets infinite Treasure tokens and colored mana, and you may then target any other creature using Orthion's ability.
By using Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink to repeatedly clone Dockside Extortionist, you can flood the board with Treasures provided your opponents have enough artifacts and enchantments in play to fuel the loop. Each token copy triggers Dockside Extortionist to generate a surplus of mana when sacrificed, paying for the ability itself while leaving plenty to spare. Meanwhile, Umbral Mantle gives Orthion the crucial untap capability it needs—and a massive power boost—by simply cycling a portion of those newly minted Treasures back into the equipment's activation cost.
