How it works

  1. Cast Dockside Extortionist by paying 1R mana.
  2. Dockside Extortionist enters the battlefield, creating at least six Treasure tokens.
  3. Activate five Treasure tokens by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 1U/RU/RU manaR mana.
  4. Cast Lore Drakkis for its mutate cost by paying U/RU/R, mutating it on top of Dockside Extortionist.
  5. Lore Drakkis triggers, returning Chain of Vapor from your graveyard to your hand.
  6. Cast Chain of Vapor by paying U mana, returning Lore Drakkis and Dockside Extortionist to your hand and choosing not to copy Chain of Vapor.
  7. Repeat.

This cunning loop relies on Dockside Extortionist to flood the board with Treasures whenever it enters the battlefield, provided your opponents control enough artifacts and enchantments to fuel the engine. By cashing in just a handful of those tokens for mana, you can cast Lore Drakkis via its mutate ability—stacking it right on top of the Goblin—which triggers the Drakkis's ability to pull Chain of Vapor straight back from your graveyard. You then bounce the entire combined creature stack back to your hand with that very same Chain of Vapor for a single blue mana, leaving you free to replay Dockside Extortionist and start the cycle anew with a net gain of mana and tokens.
