How it works

1. During your upkeep, activate Ethereal Champion by paying 1 life, preventing the next one damage that will be dealt to Ethereal Champion this turn.
2. Repeat step 1 until you have zero life.
3. Activate Magus of the Mirror by tapping and sacrificing it, exchanging your life total with an opponent.
4. The opponent loses the game due to having zero life.

This clever life-total manipulation loop relies on Platinum Angel's static ability keeping you safely in the game even as your life plummets. By repeatedly activating Ethereal Champion during your upkeep, you can intentionally whittle your own life total down to zero without dying. Once you’ve successfully drained yourself to the absolute edge, you spring Magus of the Mirror's activated ability to swap life totals with your chosen opponent, instantly saddle them with zero life, and claim the win.
