How it works

1. Activate the Spider with Thornbite Staff and Arcane Teachings attached by tapping it, dealing 1 damage to a creature an opponent controls and destroying it due to the Spider's deathtouch.
2. When the creature dies, Shelob and the Spider tapped in step 1 trigger.
3. Resolve the Shelob trigger, creating a token copy of the creature that died that is a Food artifact.
4. Resolve the Spider trigger, untapping it.
5. Repeat as desired. You can also repeat this loop whenever a creature enters the battlefield under an opponent's control.

By turning any Spider—like the formidable Shelob, Child of Ungoliant—into a precision removal engine, this loop locks down your opponents' boards the moment anything tries to enter the battlefield. Equipping the creature with Thornbite Staff and enchanting it with Arcane Teachings grants it the vital ping ability it needs to deal lethal deathtouch damage on command. Every time a creature dies to this ping, Thornbite Staff untaps the creature so it can fire again, while Shelob, Child of Ungoliant ensures the fallen foe is replaced by a harmless Food token copy.
