How it works

1. Activate Battered Golem using the ability granted to it by Arcane Teachings by tapping it, dealing 1 damage to Smaug.
2. Smaug triggers, creating a Treasure token.
3. When the Treasure enters, Battered Golem triggers, untapping Battered Golem.
4. Repeat.

This loop transforms a modest ping into a boundless hoard by turning self-inflicted damage into an endless cycle of untaps. You begin by loading up Battered Golem with Arcane Teachings, granting the metal automaton a ranged tap-ability to ping anything you please. Point that damage directly at your own Smaug the Impenetrable, whose resilient indestructible frame happily shrugs off the blow while its triggered ability spins that noncombat damage into a shiny new Treasure token. Every time that Treasure hits the battlefield, Battered Golem's static watcher-ability notices the new artifact and immediately untaps the creature, leaving you ready to tap, ping, and repeat the whole sequence for infinite treasures and mana.
