How it works

1. Activate Steelfin Whale using the ability granted to it by Arcane Teachings by tapping it, dealing 1 damage to Smaug.
2. Smaug triggers, creating a Treasure token.
3. When the Treasure enters, Steelfin Whale triggers, untapping Steelfin Whale.
4. Repeat.

By enchanting Steelfin Whale with Arcane Teachings, you grant the whale a tap ability to ping any target for 1 damage. You direct that damage at Smaug the Impenetrable, whose indestructible nature allows it to survive the blast while its triggered ability converts that noncombat damage into a Treasure token. The moment that Treasure enters the battlefield, it triggers Steelfin Whale's affinity-primed untap ability, preparing the whale to tap and repeat the cycle endlessly.
