How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Samwise the Stouthearted, adding .
2. When Samwise the Stouthearted dies, Kaya's Ghostform triggers, returning Samwise the Stouthearted from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. When Samwise the Stouthearted enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Kaya's Ghostform from your graveyard to your hand.
4. Cast Kaya's Ghostform by paying , attaching it to Samwise the Stouthearted.
5. Repeat.

This looping mechanism turns a modest halfling into an infinite engine, powered entirely by the synergy between death and rebirth. When you sacrifice Samwise the Stouthearted to Phyrexian Altar, you generate the black mana needed to recast Kaya's Ghostform, which you conveniently retrieved back to your hand thanks to Samwise's own entry trigger. Meanwhile, Kaya's Ghostform's passive enchantment effect acts as an unbreakable safety net, immediately pulling Samwise right back from the grave whenever the altar claims him.
