How it works

  1. Cast Aang, Airbending Master either from your hand or from the command zone by paying 2W mana plus commander tax if applicable.
  2. When Aang, Airbending Master enters, it triggers, airbending Aang, the Last Airbender
  3. Cast Aang, the Last Airbender from exile by paying 0.
  4. When Aang, the Last Airbender enters, it triggers, airbending Aang, Airbending Master.
  5. Cast Aang, Airbending Master from exile by paying 0.
  6. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop utilizes the cost reduction of Planar Gate to turn a pair of Legendary avatars into a self-sustaining engine. When you cast Aang, Airbending Master, its entry trigger exiles Aang, the Last Airbender, allowing you to recast it for a reduced cost of {2}. Because Planar Gate shaves off that exact amount, recasting either avatar from exile becomes entirely free. In turn, Aang, the Last Airbender enters and exiles Aang, Airbending Master back to exile, setting up a perpetual cycle of leave-the-battlefield and enter-the-battlefield triggers that builds an infinite storm count.
